"Our mission is to integrate holistic care in order to maintain health, restore function, reduce pain, and prevent disease."
Pamela Varga, DVM,cVMA
While Acupuncture and Energy Medicine are known to have therapeutic healing affects for a wide variety of animal disease, they are best used to PREVENT the formation of disease or prevent the progression of disease in the body. Used together, root causes of "dis-ease" in the body can be identified, treated and released so that healing can take place. At Hands to Paws, we believe that the body can heal itself if given the right information and opportunity to heal Utilizing applied kinesiology (known also as muscle testing) is the key to healing.

Hands to Paws, LLC was founded by Dr. Pamela Varga, who has practiced veterinary medicine and surgery for 20+ years. She has been a holistic veterinarian for the past 15 years and following her passion, eventually transitioned Hands to Paws in 2018 to a 100% holistic veterinary practice.
Dr. Varga is a certified veterinary acupuncturist servicing the central shore New Jersey area. She is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, The American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and The International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.
Dr. Varga chose to undergo acupuncture treatments due to a spinal cord and back injury that conventional medicine could not help. After a month of acupuncture treatments, she had made a full recovery from her injury which prompted her to explore providing acupuncture therapy for her animal patients. Shortly after, she was certified in Veterinary Acupuncture by Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Varga has spent years also studying TCM acupuncture (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and incorporates both philosophies into her acupuncture treatments.
Since then and over the past 20 years, she has integrated several modalities of Energy Medicine into her practice. While certified in Thetahealing, Reiki, The Emotion Code and The Body Code. Dr. Varga usually uses a combination of all energy medicine modalities to best treat your pet on both the physical and emotional level. Dr. Varga has also studied basic veterinary herbal medicine and homeopathy.
Dr. Varga specializes in Emotional Release Therapy and Trauma Release Therapy, helping dogs with all levels of behavioral and emotional challenges. Her passion is working with rescue dogs who have had histories of trauma or have had trouble being adopted because of their trauma history.
For those interested in Dr. Varga's services but don't live close enough for visits in her New Jersey office, she offers Remote Healing Sessions, also known as Distance Healing, for your pet utilizing Energy Medicine.
Dr. Varga offers phone consultations on all of the above services.
